Easton Community Corner Garden

Welcome to the Community Garden  info page.....

The corner garden project is situated adjacent to the community centre.

 

the garden area was established over five years, however due to lack of funding no developments were made until last October when the centre received a green prints grant.

 

throughout the last year the garden has become a focal point for many community activities and events. All members of the community have come and shared their skills and many young people have gained a keen interest in out door activities such as carpentry, wood carving, tree planting& pruning, hedge laying,  pond making, herb growing, plant care and garden maintenance

the garden will have its last event before the funding runs out this Saturday 5th December, where volunteers are encouraged to come and help out and share&gain skills. these days are not just hard work there is plenty of free food for those helping out and always a group of local musicians who make the day more of  a celebration

 

The people of Easton are full of skills and talents and the garden alllows local residence the opportunity to share this with their community.

There are still plans to keep the garden developed and maintained and we are looking for a group of volunteers to run this space. It is a great oppurtunity, we have all the equipment and Jodie has offered to train anyone who is interested.
